THE BOUNCE BACK 2 BANTHAM TO OVERBECKS TO BANTHAM
SPONSORED WALK – Sunday March 26th 2023
We are looking for Team Leaders to get together a team of walkers.
There are 6 stages to the walk, of approximately 3-4 miles each. You choose your distance, register your team, log on to the Just Giving page with your team’s name and start raising sponsorship for Salcombe RNLI lifeboats.
Our volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service in the UK and Ireland, and our seasonal lifeguards look after people on busy beaches. Our Flood Rescue Team helps those affected by flooding.
Every day the RNLI rescues 24 people, 1 person every single hour is saved by the RNLI. RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives since 1824 but we’re more than a rescue service. We influence, supervise and educate people too. Our Community Safety teams explain the risks and share safety knowledge with anyone going out to sea or to the coast.
We need your support now more than ever, as a charity we are solely reliant on the generosity of the public to help us fund lifesaving launches. We are still recovering from the pandemic and need your help to ensure we can be there to save even more lives.
We will be having an après walk gathering from 4pm, details to follow.

The two teams that are Salcombe RNLI Lifeboats, Operations Crew and Fundraisers Crew , came together on Friday evening on the terrace of Salcombe Yacht Club for a BBQ. The late summer evening and the backdrop of the Salcombe estuary made for an evening of catching up with both old friends and new after two years of Pandemic interruptions.
A big thank you to the management and staff of Salcombe Yacht Club for making it such an enjoyable evening.
RNLI Salcombe Fundraising Crew are pleased to announce Mr. Jon Morgan has accepted the role of Chairperson.
After many years of visiting Salcombe Jon is now a full-time resident. At a recent and extremely well attended Kick Start meeting (including RNLI CEO Mark Dowie), Jon said, “I am keen to push ahead the many activities cut short by the Pandemic and more. The Lifeboat is an integral part of our town, crewed by locals from all walks of life and it is incumbent on us all to support them in their quest to Save Lives at Sea.”
As with many other charities the Fundraising Crew urgently need supporters to help promote and join in the activities we have planned for this coming year during both summer and winter periods.
Members of our Fundraising Crew meet for a coffee every Wednesday at the Fortescue Inn, Salcombe (10:30 a.m.), please feel free to come chat with us, maybe you have ideas you would like to share with us and hopefully help us to help others.
