We all think our Grandparents are special and amazing, and this is especially so for Salcombe RNLI volunteer crew member Jeff Gillard whose Grandma Elaine Gray, is about to take on a challenge specifically to raise funds for Salcombe Lifeboats.
In recent years Elaine has completed many fund-raising events and on 30 October she will once again set off on her next adventure she will paddling her Kayak from Customs Quay Salcombe to North Sands Salcombe.
Did we mention what makes this even more amazing – Elaine is doing this on her 100-birthday weekend – amazing indeed.
Elaine will set off, weather permitting, at 10:30am, why not come along to see her off then make your way to South Sands to congratulate her on a wonderful achievement.

THE BOUNCE BACK 2 BANTHAM TO OVERBECKS TO BANTHAM

SPONSORED WALK – Sunday March 26th 2023

We are looking for Team Leaders to get together a team of walkers.

There are 6 stages to the walk, of approximately 3-4 miles each. You choose your distance, register your team, log on to the Just Giving page with your team’s name and start raising sponsorship for Salcombe RNLI lifeboats.

Our volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service in the UK and Ireland, and our seasonal lifeguards look after people on busy beaches. Our Flood Rescue Team helps those affected by flooding.

Every day the RNLI rescues 24 people, 1 person every single hour is saved by the RNLI. RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives since 1824 but we’re more than a rescue service. We influence, supervise and educate people too. Our Community Safety teams explain the risks and share safety knowledge with anyone going out to sea or to the coast.

We need your support now more than ever, as a charity we are solely reliant on the generosity of the public to help us fund lifesaving launches. We are still recovering from the pandemic and need your help to ensure we can be there to save even more lives.

We will be having an après walk gathering from 4pm, details to follow.
