VOICES IN HARMONY’ – FUNDRAISING CONCERT

The RNLI Salcombe Lifeboat Fundraising Crew recently presented a special concert as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations.

More than 80 people attended a wonderful concert of close harmony ‘a Capella’ singing at Holy Trinity Church, Salcombe.

Performed by the Kingsmen, Panache and Dartmouth Rock, the audience enjoyed a varied programme offering a wide range of musical styles and content.

Each of the choirs presented its own unique sound, in turn delighting and intriguing the audience.

Said Tim Chandler, from the Fundraising Crew, this evening has shown just what a wonderful wealth of singing talent we have in the South Hams.

He added, special thanks must go to these three choirs who have generously given their time and energies free for this evening’s event.

This, together with the generosity of our audience in supporting the event, should enable us to add nearly £1,000 to our fundraising efforts.

The new book it is to be formally launched at a special event in Cliff House, Salcombe at 5pm on Wednesday March 27th with the Broadcaster and Marine Biologist Monty Halls lending his support.  The event, which is free and open to all, will include a short presentation, with slides and selected readings, by the author, followed by book signings.
